SEO Stuff vs Semrush

Semrush is the other reference platform in SEO, and the broader of the two: keyword and backlink research, rank tracking, site audits, content tools, PPC and social data, and AI visibility tracking across Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Plans start at $139 a month and the one that includes AI search tracking in full starts at $199.

SEO Stuff covers the research most businesses actually do (keywords, bulk keyword metrics, backlinks) on credits you buy once, and offers something Semrush does not: a team that does the work. The Done-For-You Package delivers the audit, the content and the authority placements for a single $999 payment.

Pick SEO Stuff if

  • You research keywords and backlinks occasionally and do not want a monthly bill
  • You want the strategy written, the pages published and the placements secured for you
  • Your goal is to show up in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, and you would rather have the work done than watch a tracker
  • You are a small business, a startup or a solo marketer

Pick Semrush if

  • You manage SEO, content and paid search for several sites and want them in one platform
  • You need daily rank tracking, a site crawler and AI visibility tracking with daily prompts
  • You have a team that will use the data every day
  • You need PPC, social or market-research data alongside SEO

Where Semrush is the stronger platform

Breadth. Semrush has a tool for almost every marketing question: organic and paid keywords, competitor traffic estimates, backlink audits, position tracking, a site crawler, content briefs, local listings, social scheduling. It tracks AI visibility too, with daily prompt checks across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini on the Starter plan and up. If one team is going to run all of that from one login, the $199 a month is reasonable.

SEO Stuff does not try to match that. The tools answer the questions a business owner or a small marketing team asks a few times a month, and the services do the parts a platform cannot.

Where SEO Stuff is the better buy

Cost for the way most businesses use these tools. A subscription makes sense when someone is in the tool every day; it makes much less sense for the owner who checks a keyword list once a quarter. SEO Stuff credits are bought once (400 for $49, 3,000 for $99) and spent when there is something to look up, so a year of occasional research costs less than one month of Semrush.

And the work itself. Semrush will tell you which pages to write and which sites to earn links from; you still have to write the pages and earn the links. The Done-For-You Package does both: an SEO and AI-search audit with a strategy guide within 7 business days, 10 pages of content built for AI citation and published on your site, 3 DR50+ authority placements on sites the assistants already cite, all delivered in 21 business days for $999, with a dashboard that shows your AI-search baseline and every delivery as it lands.

Using both

If you already pay for Semrush, keep using it for tracking and buy the Done-For-You Package for the execution; the two do different jobs. If you do not, start with the free audit and the credits, and add Semrush later if you find yourself needing daily data.

Questions people ask

Is SEO Stuff a replacement for Semrush?

For occasional keyword and backlink research, yes, at a fraction of the price. For a team that needs rank tracking, site audits, content tools and AI visibility tracking every day, no; that breadth is what Semrush charges for.

Does SEO Stuff have a free plan like Semrush?

There is a free keyword generator (free account) and, more useful, a free SEO + AI search audit: our team reviews your site by hand and emails a report within 48 hours. Semrush's free plan gives you one project and 10 reports a day.

Which tracks AI search better?

Semrush tracks AI visibility daily on its Starter plan and up ($199 a month). SEO Stuff gives every Done-For-You client a baseline of twenty buyer questions across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude on day one; for ongoing checks and fixes the same team runs Rightcited. If you only want tracking, Semrush does that; if you want the citations, the package is the thing that earns them.

Do I need Semrush to use the Done-For-You Package?

No. The package includes its own audit, keyword and competitor research, and 3,000 credits for our tools, so there is nothing else to buy.

How long until results?

The package is delivered in 21 business days (strategy guide within 7). Citations and traffic build over the 60 to 90 days that follow, which is the window most clients see meaningful movement in.
